PKL Season 9 Starting Date: The Pro Kabaddi League (also known as Vivo Pro Kabbadi for sponsorship reasons) is an Indian men’s professional Kabaddi league maintained by Mashal Sports. It was introduced in 2014 and is currently broadcast on Star Sports.
The popularity of the Kabaddi tournament at the 2006 Asian Games influenced the formation of the league. The Indian Premier League influenced the competition’s format. The Pro Kabaddi League operates on a franchise model, and its inaugural season was held in 2014, with eight teams paying entry fees of up to US$250,000 each.
In 2017, Pro Kabaddi added 4 new teams from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Tamilnadu, and Gujarat. The team from Haryana is owned by JSW Sports and is known as Haryana Steelers. Sachin Tendulkar co-owned the team from Tamilnadu named Tamil Thalaivas. The team from Uttar Pradesh is owned by GMR Sport and known as UP Yoddha but in 2022 for season 9 they changed their name to UP Yoddhas. The team from Gujarat is owned by Gautam Adani and is known as Gujarat Fortune Giants.
PKL Season 9 Starting Date:
Mashal Sports, the organizers of the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League, have announced the Season 9 dates. The league will begin on October 7, 2022, and will run until mid-December. Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad will host the league stage.
