Harshal Patel Injury: Hello, Good Morning from the deck of Cricbails. So the news from the cricket world is that Harshal Patel is set to miss the Asia Cup 2022 and is a question mark for the T20 World Cup 2022 as well.
The India pacer, a Twenty20 specialist noted for his variety and deception in his bowling has been identified with a side strain, which could rule him out of contention. The Asia Cup team is set to be announced on August 8.
The 31-year-old pacer Harshal Patel is currently in the United States with the Indian side for the five-match T20I series against the West Indies but has not played in the first three games and before the 4th T20I toss team informed about his injury.
On Saturday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) provided an update on Harshal injury status stating that he “has not fully recovered from his rib injury and is ruled out of the remaining two T20Is against West Indies.”
Due to the side strain, he may miss the Twenty20 World Cup in Australia in October or November because the injury requires four to six weeks of rest and rehabilitation. His chances of competing in the World Cup depend on how quickly he heals. After his return from the US, he will be requested to join the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
